Hey Margo... finally got the boat out last week, what a laugh.. first the fixed crane could not lift her enough to get her across the dock... so a mobile crane nearby was 'recruited'... then the guy hauled over a M/boat trailer to move the boat... reckoned a few lashings would hold her up... wotta dork..
Eventually convinced him she'd fall over in the first few feet... so a flat bed truck was hijacked for the move... so she's now on shore and the interior wood and exterior grab rails are being sanded and varnished.. when the rain stops its remove all the deck fittings.. waiting for the toilet n hatch to arrive...

    Hey Girl,
Let me know the name on your boat. My better half & I will be in the Carib next year. If we meet we'll have some drinks & talk sea stories.......Michael

Hello Margo.... might be coming over if my refit goes ok... gotta stop the soggy bunk... but hope to be back afloat before X-mas. Like your suggestion to Zee about swopping crew at Panama... get me back to my boat...lol
Suggest you visit St Martin.. just past the BVI's... duty free and the French side is excellent if you like good food and wine... also free to stay there anchored in Marigot Bay or in the Lagoon... BVI's cost loads..
Phil (xx for saying I'm Handsome...lol)

been in a hurrican int he bahamas and just beached my boat in the marsh and tied to a bunch of mangroves and put the anchor on land,, i have a 2 foot draft on my cat. Rode out a hurricane on a 150 foot boat once and had NO damage to it when most of hte boats had lots of damage including loss of vessel due to stupidy of hte captains. the boat I was on doubles the lines, doubles the enders an put a morring in,,, 18 foot screw type that went into the bottom. This kept the boat OFF the dock by 8 feet, used older lines that were already streched,,, most people thought that was crazy but it worked and gave lots of room between dock and boat, everybody has different opioins about it,,,, one thing I know for a fact,,, no matter how well you tie your boat up or anchor your boat most of the damage at marinas come from the idot captains and owners who DO not tie there boat up right and they break free and start hitting the dock and other boats, when that happens there is NOTHING you can do
