Thanks for the prompt reply. Our yachts must be very close out of the mould. Our Bavaria is also a 2 cabin 2004 model. I am still in the process of making it "ours" by making the odd addition here and there.
Do you run the generator in place in the locker, or lift it out to the transom walkthru? I had decided that the port locker was the best storage location as it is completely seperate to the rest of the yacht and I also have a slight list to stbd due to batteries, diesel and rollup inflatable dinghy being stored on stbd. Overall we are very happy with "Sweet As" - she keeps all onboard very dry and comfortable (important in these southern latitudes), sails well, although I have noted that you need to start reefing early as she is somewhat tender in the rough stuff. I am very tempted to fit a third reef in the main.
All the best with the cruise from Friday.

We have recently purchased a 2004 Bavaria 36 and sailed her south from Sydney to Tasmania in Australia. I noted your frustration with the MD2030 - I also had issues, including having to replace 3 glow plugs this year alone.
You may have noted the thread I (Sweet As) started recently seeking advice on a Honda 2000i vs solar panels. The volume of responses that it generated has been overwhelming and appreciated. However, part of the reason for the many and varied responses is no doubt due to the many and varied type of boat, location, power needs etc etc. I did note on another related thread that you mentioned you had a Honda generator. As we can remove the type of boat as a variable....I would be very interested to learn of your experience with the Honda.
Do you have the two or three cabin version? Where do you store the generator?
