I stumbled on the blog for your Choate 40 and saw the pics of the mast plate
with turning blocks. It looks exactly like what I want to do with my Tartan 30.
Is that a custom job? Who made it? Thanks for your help.

Awesome! keep me posted. I am also looking at solar panels and a wind machine to keep everything charged. Its a substantial investment to get the whole system put together but its definitely worth it. I will be launching the Schooner in July and begin sea trials, but will catch up with you in the South Pacific sometime next year. My wife is Filipino, so we plan on purchasing some property in Samal Island near Davao. I want a place for a dock so I can moor the Schooner and enough room to facilitate my sailing friends when cruising through the area.
