    These are my additional questions:

1 - Is it true that the 450F can come from the factory with bow padeyes but not the 450S? If so, why?
2 - On the 450S where do you run your guys? Also back to the cockpit sheet winches with double jammer? If not, where?
3 - Would it make sense to add reinforced cleats to the bows instead of padeyes to serve double purpose of attaching blocks and attaching to mooring balls?
4 - How do you get at the underside of the bows forward of the bulkhead? Is it foam filled?
5 - Is it smart to add a jammer forward of the windlass to handle the downhaul on a bowsprit mounted headsail like a Code 0?

Whew! That's a lot! Thanks so much Dave. Michael

    These are the CatPeople questions:

a - We are spec-ing out our 450S and want to get the "Code 0 rig & pole" option which we understand includes the bowsprit/pole and the cockpit winches. What else comes with this package? Specifically are there reinforced attachment points like padeyes added aft to use with blocks to turn the Code 0 sheets toward the winches? Are these attachment points located in solid glass sections with backing plates?
c - Do any blocks, sheets, or other items come with the Code 0 option?
d - Regarding Wingaker rigging, do bow padeyes come standard with all 450's, or only come with the "Code 0" option, or only come with the "Asymmetric Spinaker Gear" option? If they do not come standard or with the Code 0 option, I will put them on myself (and I understand that there may be some foam filler material in the way to remove before accessing that part of the hull)
e - How many halyards come with the boat in total when including the Code 0 option? 3 or 4?

    Hi Dave,

I have ordered a new L450S for April delivery in France. I'm busy figuring out the millions of issues involved in factory options vs aftermarket. CatPeople posted some questions regarding Code 0 and Wingaker/Parasailor rigging for the Sportop in CF in January and I can't seem to find out if they had their questions answered. You were involved in the string and since you are a seasoned L450S owner, I thought I might pose the same questions to you. I'll send the questions in separate comments. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

Hello Dave. Hope you had a fun year cruising and are enjoying moving into a new year. I am online looking again for some spring adventures and thought i would just say hello. Hoping you got your boat from Miami and to your intended destination alright.

    Hey Dave,
Been reading your comments etc here on cruisers forum for some time..just realised (Doh!) that you are Dave from Daley Adventures. Just binge watched. Excellent videos (I know how hard it is to record everything and so kudos for what you are doing.)

    Hi Dave

Hope you both well and enjoying your sailing location.

    I need a favour
    .
Another research project of mine is, getting a quote for cork decking.

I am in touch with a company Marquipt located in France who supply Marinedeck2000.
We like what cork deck properties have to offer v teak decking.

The company is looking for the sq area of the aft cockpit to include the aft walkway linking both engine hatches and the steps on the sugar scoops. All of which we plan to cover.

If possible and its not to much trouble, can you measure each area in rectangular shapes in order to get a good estimate of sq mt required to quote.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Regards
    George

Thanks Dave, very helpful. All the best for the rest of your fit out etc. I'll keep following your adventures. I'm also really interested in your solar setup so love to here how it all finishes up. I am seriously thinking of putting enough solar and batteries on board that no generator is required albeit that I will therefore limit the aircon to a minimal setup just to take the humidity out or (reverse cycle) take the chill off the air.

    Hi Dave,

Thanks so much for your reply re coppercoat. I am really interested in this and your commissioning as my wife and I arevery likely to sign contract and pay deposit for a new Lagoon 42 on Monday which will turn up in the UK late next year. We have two young kids and our plans are to live on board for 4 years or more, depending on how things go. We are in the UK purchasing through Ancasta who I understand use SAS to commission in France at a cost of approx €11000 exc VAT. Neither SAS or Ancasta want to do copper coat as they appear to have had some issues applying properly and therefore had warranty costs to redo.

Did you end up sorting your own commissioning or were Yacht Care Services the company your dealer uses? If you did it yourself do you mind sharing the costs for commissioning and separately for coppercoat (if you'd rather not I understand!).

Really appreciate you sharing your experiences!

    Thanks,
    Dave (in UK from NZ)
