Graeme - I am still interested but I have a bit of a problem - length. My boat is a bit new to me, the "as built" drawings are incorrect, so I don't have a good measurement on the distance between the tip of my bowsprit and the spinnaker halyard block. As best I can figure, it's 50 ft (15.2 m) +/-.
What is the extreme length on your assembly (connection point to connection point)? Shortening it as you note shouldn't be a problem, and having a asym clearing my bowsprit rails would be an advantage, I believe, but I'm not sure adding a short extension below the assembly would be the best solution. I've never flown an asym or even regular spinnaker so I am a little blind here. I won't be back on my boat until two weeks at the earliest, it's nearly the entire continent across from me right now.
