    My original reply was not meant to hijack... in fact it was just an honest question about WHY you feel a need to point. I felt an explaination as to why you need to point, might lead you to discovering your next boat. The times when you can pinch the wind enough so that you can stay on course and not tack are indeed rare. So the need for an extra 5 to 10 degrees of pointing ability might also be rare. a 5 degree difference in 100 miles is only 8 miles, which on a cat might be 45 minutes run time. Figure out what 45 minutes is worth to you compared to an easier ride.
