    Hi Phil,

I have an opportunity to deliver a boat for someone. This would be my first since getting my 50 ton Master's ticket. Do you have a written contract you use with your customers? Would you be willing to share a copy of it? Or do you know where there is one online?

    Thanks.

I've been thinking of you. I've been thinking of your stint in the Royal Navy. I've been thinking of units which can trace their lineage from the present day back to those days which tried the honor and courage of the same.

Just have I found on You Tube that a bloke by name of James Bones has uploaded the entire series of Hornblower episodes. I did not know there is a series, I guess it is something made for the telly. While not fond of TV, I can say what I have seen is impressive. And it makes me think of yourself being how you had served and our cousin across the pond.

Here in the states there are active units which trace their lineage far back. I reckon that you do carry forward in the same manner. I tried to make this a question but in every case realized that to do so was to become too personal. So I take leave of my every question. I reckon my correspondence is much to do about nothing but honor and creed and remembrance.

Yea I though I was, had no bad intentions that's for sure. I cant be expected to know what its like in 15 other country's 10000 miles away. Boy people on here just wanna fight or argue try to bash other people. Silly.

Thanks for you valuable info and not assuming I am a American and calling me a racist which I am neither.

    Hi Boatie,

Thanks for the message, and wishing you a great 2018.

I read your comments about the surveyor with interest (post 'Really Bad Boat Surveyor'). Completely agreed. The surveyor's job is the boat's sailing systems and integrity. People seem to expect a pre-purchase check; something else again. And that's fine if made clear and the extra time and effort paid for. And not attending the survey was a poor choice.

Anyways always appreciate your common sense posts.

    Cheers,
    Grant

I'm interested in joining you for a crew. I have no sailing experience and the reasons why I wanted to volunteer, I can pay for my own expense

Hi... saw your post on sailing smaller boats across the pond. I'm looking here in S. Florida, saw a very clean Pearson 27 (wing keel, about 1988 I think), well maintained. I know it's fine for S. Florida, Bahamas, maybe some coast hugging Carib. island hopping, but since I saw you listed it as one of the designs you'd cross the Atlantic in, I wondered what you thought of this one.

My concern: as you may know the P27 is an "open design" - no bulkhead behind the V berth (head is in rear of boat). At the same time I noted some very heavy floor ribs crossing the boat laterally. Also wondered if you knew how the deck is attached to the hull.

    Your thoughts for bluewater? Thanks.

Good morning. I am purchasing a 40 foot sailboat in the BVI's. I have fairly inexperienced crew. Would you mind letting me know how much you would charge to skipper the boat to Toronto, Canada. Also, how long it would take. Thanks so much, I look forward to hearing from you. Kindest regards, Beverly
