Hey Audeamus,
i just read your post about the welding of your aluminium deck after you removed the teak deck. I'm right now into buying a 47 aluminium Sailboat with a lot of teak, that was professionally installed 18 years ago (the teak is still 14mm thick). The teak is glued and screwed in the aluminium, and all the holes are going completely through the aluminium. I wanted to ask, how you handled the welding, did you have to take out all the interior to weld the holes? or is it possible to keep the interior installed and just weld from the topside? do you have pictures of the process that you would be open to share with me? i'd appreciate any help, to know if it would be a good idea to buy the boat or not. also could you tell me how much it cost just for the welding?
