Hi there, Mr. or Ms. Rutherford!

Sorry for my tardy reply; I never think to check that little box that tells me I have new messages.

I can't take credit for the sole, nor really much of the great woodwork you might see on Diva...those kudos belong to David Morand, of Ship's Carpenter Ltd. in Chaguaramas, Trinidad, and his talented crew. He went with teak and maple rather than holly...you'd never know the difference. The benefit of having woodwork done in Trini is that teak grows native down there, and is a helluva lot cheaper there than it is up here in the U.S. I'd have to look up what my bills were for the sole work, but I think it ran roughly $1200 US. Hard to tease out the sole plates' cost from the rest in my case, as we basically reinvented every wheel on her, including cabin layouts.

I'm still a long way from splashing (into Year 10 of a "2-Year Refit"!) but I keep on trudging along. Someday, I'll be sailing!

Fair Winds, and thanks for the moral support!

    Geoff
