    You shouldn't expect any problem other than you can have anywhereelse.. If the boat is turkish flagged, she must have been VAT paid. Nonetheless, this VAT (1%) are not accepgted as paid by some countries, definately not in EU countries as Turkey is not part of EU. For deflagging and exporting the boat from Turkey, there are obviously some expenses to be incurred and you should discuss these with the seller or broker upfront. (1-3% of the sale value)
    If you need a surveyor, I have very good one, a Britt who lives in Bodrum.

    Hi Yeloya..I found this from years ago, but maybe you are still in the loop...I hope so! You seem to the go-to person for Turkey related issues,,,,thanks in advance if you can help.

    we are considering buy a boat IN Turkey Bodrum). I'm assuming that it is a Turkish flagged boat. What issues or taxes can we expect? Other "gotchas" you can share with us. We are a completely blank slate when it comes to the Med and especially Turkey so any and ALL help and/or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks....allen
