    Tom,
Well as it turns out I repowered with Yanmar 3YM30. Great engines but I am definitely under propped with my 2 blade 15x9 Campbell Sailor props. My new tranny has a gear ration of 2.2 in forward so similiar to my old ZF. Were your props 2 blade or 3 blade. I am looking at the CDI perfect pitch props but have not talked with anyone whos has used them yet. Still trying to make a good prop decision.
    Cheers

    Tony,
It's March '09 and I just realized that you posted a message to me. I've never used or even seen this Profile Comments area, so I apologize for the delay in responding. Catatude has the original Perkins M30s with Hurth HBW 50 gearboxes. (One was replaced with the ZF equivalent - ZF-5M). The props are 15X10, and I think the they are a bit over-pitched. If I were to do it again, I'd get 15X9s. She does about 6 knts. @ 2200 RPM on one engine; 7 kts on two. She'll do about 7.5 -8 @ 2500 rpm (depending on conditions, of course) and that's about as hard as we ever push.
By now I'm sure you have your set-up complete - I'd be interested in hearing what you did and how it's working out.

    Best, Tom

Just reading about your flex-o-fold props. I recently bought a Lagoon 42 TPI, the same as you. I am repowering her with new Volvo D 1 30 engines and as a result I will need new props as the gear reduction ratio is different from the Perkins M30 @ 3600 RPM and the ZF gearbox @ 2.05:1. I would like to know what engines and transmission etc you have and your prop size. What is your speed with one and two engines running.
    Thanks
    Tony now owner of Vakasa
