Apart from a new v-drive which is very pricy the hunt for a recon or second hand one appears to be difficult. would you have any suggestions where to look, any link?

What's on my boat and other Cal 40's I've seen is a Walter RV-10. I was told by someone that this is too small for my 3GM30 so I called Walter (years ago) and IIRC they said it was fine. I believe they said it was the only one they had that would work because it was the only one with a 1:1 ratio. Yanmar's transmissions only came with reduction gears. Apparently the preferred method is a 1:1 transmission with the reduction in the v-drive.

Walter doesn't have much info on their web page, you have to call them. Very helpful, but kind of picky about how things are done.

I am the proud owner of a CAL40 myself and wish to find a v-drive to fit with the Yanmar 3HM I am about to install (my boat was converted to electric by the previous owner and the original v-drive thrown away)
Could you give me some info on what v-drive I should be looking for?
