Steve, My SR 34 is due for a standing rig replacement, and I need to achieve lower stretch than my existing 1/4" @ 316 grade SS, on my upper shrouds & stays. I also want a similar lifespan, (at least 15 years) ... My choices are:

#1... go with 1X19 @ 316 SS, but up size to 9/32" on the uppers. (with the downside of making my rig heavier)

#2... Same as above but use 9/32" DYFORM wire on the uppers only. (with the risk that the DYFORM might want to unscrew my StaLocs)

#3... Except for my back stay (antennae), the headsail stay (roller furling), and staysail stay (piston hanks)... Use Dux fiber rigging everywhere else.

Do you have an opinion about the above?
    Thanks! Mark Johnson
