I have been trying to get an interest in the Globalstar SPOT GPS/Satellite location system as a plugin for OCPN.

This gps/satellite system is more widely accessable than AIS which is dependent on land stations and can locate vessels across the oceans in the most important areas of the world. Tracks in .gpx format can be directly imported into OCPN from Globalstar SPOT and cruises can be recorded with photos and full track info using the 'Adventure' module.

Someone with vision and the programing skills could make another invaluable addition to the OCPN plugins.
