For marinas and so forth then it's Beaufort of which there are many. Lookout in fall/winter is just you and some gorgeous sand dunes, a lighthouse and 360 degree protection.

We have the boat hauled in Beaufort and were supposed to be returning to head for the Bahamas for the winter then on to the Eastern Carib, but will now be heading back next summer I would think and heading for Maine before rejoining this years plan next year!

    Have a great trip

    Hi Tim:

Thanks for your very helpful post -- re: Cape Lookout, any marinas there? I've got to leave the boat during the week, sailin gon long weekends ...

Also, where are you headed? We're leaving Lauderdale on Jan 1 for a 2-3 year circumnavigation ...
