    Ah, thanks.

You said, "Also when the boat is not sailing for some time, just to save the sail."

May I have your opinion about how long counts as "some time"? I will go on a three week vacation this summer, so I'm sure I should take it down then. What about those times I don't sail for a week and a half or two weeks? Is it worth the effort to take it down then too?

(I'm guessing you'll say yes, but I admit I hadn't even considered this question before!)

    Thanks again.

    Hello.

Thanks for your answer in my thread earlier today. I have a question about a post you made some time ago. You wrote:

Every furled jib has to go up and down a couple of times every year so a furler doesn't make a difference really.

What do you mean by that? That is, why does every furled jib have to go up and down a couple of times a year, and why does this mean the furler doesn't make a difference?

I currently have a Genoa on my boat, but I'm about to switch to a jib; a Genoa is just too much sail for me at present. Should I expect to bring the jib down during the season? What for?

    Thanks from a puzzled novice.

    Jesse
