May I have your opinion about how long counts as "some time"? I will go on a three week vacation this summer, so I'm sure I should take it down then. What about those times I don't sail for a week and a half or two weeks? Is it worth the effort to take it down then too?
(I'm guessing you'll say yes, but I admit I hadn't even considered this question before!)

What do you mean by that? That is, why does every furled jib have to go up and down a couple of times a year, and why does this mean the furler doesn't make a difference?
I currently have a Genoa on my boat, but I'm about to switch to a jib; a Genoa is just too much sail for me at present. Should I expect to bring the jib down during the season? What for?
