    G'day

As you're the resident anchor guru, I'm seeking some anchor advice. We plan on sailing from the US across the Pacific to Oz eventually. I'm looking to sleep well at night and to not be up and down like a brides nightie checking to see if we're dragging.

We have a 46 ft Cat, Displacing about 13,000 kg. (A Broadblue 46, what used to be the Prout 45)

    I'm thinking of the following:

    - a Manson 80lb
    - 15 Meters of 3/8 (10mm) chain
    - 100 M of 3/4 inch nylon plaitt.

I'd like to avoid all chain but then the Pacific crossing will mean parking over coral - so maybe I don't have a choice.

    What do you recommend?

    Thanks

    niels
