Its 1,600 nms in Hurricane season.
    I wouldn't do it.
You are sailing in the wrong season but also you are crossing the paths of any incommung hurricanes. Sorry, but you have missed the "right" time.
I am leaving for NYC in the next two days. I would not start it in 4 weeks time.

    Sorry to be blunt.

Some may get away with it, particularly as this year is meant to be quiet, but we have already had Ana, a named tropical storm off Florida heading north.

    Mark,

I always enjoy the humor and absence of BS in your posts.

We just closed the deal on a 2006 FP Lavezzi 40, currently in Simpson Bay.

My job & minor rigging work mean we won't be able to begin delivery from SXM to Gulfport Mississippi until June 18. This is about six weeks later than I'd prefer to do the trip.

So, from those who have 'been there and done that,' are we too late for a sensible trip? My expectation is that we'll see less wind in general and more squalls and thunderstorms than if we left in May but that it's still doable. What are your thoughts?

I'd love to buy you a beer when we're in town.
