Insurance companies are the world masters of number crunching, thats all they see. It's quire rare for an insurer (underwriter or broker) to actually understand what they are reading, they check the value, crunch the numbers and make a premium offeringt. . The one exception seems to be BoatUS who have all surveys reviewed by people who understand. BoatUS will actually call the surveyor and ask pertinent questions if all is not clear and will refuse obviously incompentent surveys.
