Jim, I recommned you verify this, but my understanding is that the cruising permit is good for 12-months and cost $150 for vessels under 35 feet and $300 for larger vessels. I believe the 90-day limit is a re-entry limit. If you leave the Bahamas and re-enter within this time of issue, you do not have to pay the permit fee again, but do if it's over 90 days. I believe that's the case.
I also understand after one year, one can continue to keep their boat in the Bahams by renewing the permit without exiting the country for $500, and can do that up to 3 years. If one wishes to keep their boat in the Bahamas for longer than that I belive they are required to import it and pay an import tax.

Hi Nautical62, I have another question for you: Is there a time limit as to how long one can stay as a "Cruiser" in the Bahamas.??? I have been told the "cruising permit" is only good for 90 days. I have also read that when you purchase a permit, it is for a 12 month period... I am confused...lol Thans, Jim
