    The cal is a great boat. It's fast and comfortable. I live on mine full time and find it has plenty of room for me. It's a deep draft boat though (6 foot) and depending on where you intend to cruise that might be a consideration.

    It doesn’t have much storage space. That is my biggest complaint. There are large lockers under the settees in the cockpit but they are hard to get to and if it's raining everything gets wet while your digging through what ever is on top to get what ever you need which always seems to be on the bottom.

    It's an easy boat to single-hand. Especially if you have a wind vein. The only real problem I've had is that the windows are old and are starting to leak. That is my spring project this year. Not a huge deal but like all boats they take maintenance.

    I love the Cal 34 and I am seriously considering one for myself and my wife as the boat for our trip to the Carib.

    Do you think the Cal is suited for a couple on a trip like that? Or would you go with a larger boat?
