If you are still wondering. She's not fast but she's not slow, actually a little faster then we expected when we got into above 25 knots....... we only sailed her the first year we got her as there was a problem in the keel that took us to last year to fix ourselves. (I fix boats and so EVERYONE ELSE'S BOAT takes precedence) She "feels" secure though and I love that this is the boat that found me.......

Searching for info here about Hughes 40 Ketch, I saw some of your ports and wanted to thank you for sharing info about the Northstar / Hughes, it is very helpful to those of us considering a purchase. Now that you have owner your s fro a few years I'm wondering if you can share your exp at sailing her, up and down wind as well as in light (5-10 knots)and heavy (25-35 knots) air?
