Winter in the Med 2013 - finding other kids!

Hi, We are just embarking on a liveaboard lifestyle and are presently in the med. I am in the process of working out the best marina location for the winter and would love to hear your experiences. In particular I am very keen to go somewhere where there will be other families so my son who is 8 years old can have a bit of a social life, and where there are things to keep us all entertained.

We are going to be home schooling so i am also researching websites and books that will be good resources. He would be in year 4 in the UK now, so any suggestions would be welcome.

What part of the med are you in Anna?

We are presently in Greece, actually on land whilst we sort out some boat stuff, then should be back in the water in the next two weeks. Starting from Piraeus and then probably stop at some islands for a month or two before we find a good marina for the winter.

I can't recall any children but there is a British contingent in Lefkas that winters there. If your on a tough budget its very affordable at the marina in Messolonghi.

i know its a long time since you posted, but like to ask were you managed to winter. Sicily has lots of families. We are in the south of France with our two boys 8yr and 10yrs. We have a facebook page Kids aboard if you would like to join us there. Great to hear from you. manda
