What sort of anchor are you planning on using once you do stop? There was a limited edition Rocna made with a more flexible shank. They are hard to find, even though almost everyone thinks they have one.

But in any event - there is no more a record for Youngest according the the "official" definitions. So no one can "officially" beat Jesse Martin. According to "official" rules. So the best you can do is unofficially beat Jesse and maybe Jess

OK Chucklet, you are either a great troll or a naive youngster who knows three fifths of five eighths of FA. Again not a criticism, we all start out that way.

Assuming the later, let me give you some answers first (and then the lecture).
1. Forget the Hunter - don't even ask why, just trust me on this one.
2. For a fast 30 - 45 Footer built for fast solo (or short handed) ocean racing, I suggest the Open 40 ( Class40 ).

As for duration of voyage, let's look at some maths. RTW (once) via southern capes and crossing the equator twice is about 24,000 nm. So a double will be about 48,000 nm. At a 100 nm per day, that is about 480 days. A 100 nm per day is a modest cruising average and you are planing fast so lets say 200 nm per day. This is now only 240 days or about 8 months. Mind you, I don't think you will average 200 nm per day but right now, that doesn't matter.

Now for the lecture .

You simply don't know enough to ask the right questions so do yourself a big favour and read every book written by (Sir) Robin Knox Johnston and by Jon Sanders. While there are many other all worthy of reading, please believe that what these guys don't know about solo RTW non-stop is just not worth knowing. They have taken this activity to an artform. Don't just google them (although that is a good start), read the books. It is like reading the Manual of solo non-stop RTW.

After that, come back here with informed questions, I am sure someone will be happy to answer intelligent questions.

And if you come from the school of "there are no dumb questions", let me assure you that there is another (higher) school of thought that states "a dumb person can ask more questions than a wise man can answer". Please don't become that sort of dumb person.

A danish guy did the RTW solo a few years back,as i recall he was about 170 days and he did not go round the great capes. He also noted that in those 170 days he never slept more than 1 full hour in a stretch.

You are probably best off getting a Westsail 32 for this. They do 400 mile days, surf on waves well and I imagine you could sail around twice during the time when school lets out and starts up again.
Regarding buckets...you want to take only canvas ones. They are lighter. Best to dye them though. Blue for fresh water, green for salt water and brown for...oh...never mind.
