you want some real storm stuff? try reading At the Mercy of the Sea by John Kretschmer. read it and appreciate it for what it is.

Good Morning....wow you guys are AWESOME!!!!! Thank you so much. I will read the suggested books.

And you're right Don - this was a frankenthread from the "fear" thread. I wanted to begin a new thread so I would (hopefully) get some specific advice.

And to whomever suggested sailing with someone - that too may happen, but I'm SO looking for a voyage of self-discovery, and an opportunity to grow in a way that is impossible with others.

What a fantastic forum. It's like the Motherlode of sailing treasure...
An extra ration or rum for everyone!!!!!!!!!!

Ha ha!! I definitely recommend By the Grace of the Sea to add to your list!! I'm still trying to reconcile the title with the reality that Pat Henry recounts!

thankyou thankyou--(bows all around, blushing..) --we are going out again in a week or so--will take more--i put those for the reason that a picture is worth a thousand words--and cruising under sail is sooo much better than the whining i have read and heard LOL....is because if the whining that there are nice cruising boats for sale at the ends of some cruises......but the pix say so much more than the words ever could, i feel----lol------pix represent a lot of why folks go cruising under sail......
