Sailing the BVIs in the off season with two young kids!

Is there a time that misses the mosquitos? We have plenty of them in TX and I'd like to avoid them as much as possible. I'm guessing winter and early spring? We'd love to go there when the water is warm enough to swim in And with less mosquitos, if there is such a time.

Well being for a week I can honestly I wish we were at anchor! The mosquito and biting insects are relentless here this time of year especially for the wee ones! Baby has netting but our three year old is getting eaten alive.

Our boat is not ready to sail yet but we are shacked up at a hotel next to the marina over seeing the work. However it's a holiday here for three days so work being done. Bow pulpit is off to Tortola to get redesigned.


Lots of charter boats! I could not imagine this place in the winter but find out next January


The heat is tough on the kids but really keeping up on the hydration. The Atlantic is calm for now but will keep a close eye on it. We did get some of that desert haze last night. Awesome sunset.


She's on the hard but I'm looking forward to sailing her with the family
