Planning one living with 2 young kids

Hello there, looking for some advice.

We are planning on moving the entire family onto a sailboat, two kids 4 and 7 being home schooled already and a big dog. We have been looking for something in the 40ish foot long at least. Sadly older boats are so narrow and newer boat are too expensive, guess that's live

We would love to be in the Florida area, where it's cheap and hopefully easy to make money too.

I have owned sailboats and like to think, I'm jack of all trades, repair etc.

Any info, we (my wife and I) would be very thankful.
