I have an African Grey for thirty eight years. I sail out of Toronto. Unless you can spend a large part of your time with the bird, I would suggest that you pass. They are very social able and need a lot of attention. If you are planning to sail your boat to U.S. waters, do not take the bird. The restrictions are vey difficult. We did the Erie Canal last year and we had to board the bird.

I know it is difficult to pass in usa I will make my root in an other path.

Friends sails the SoPac to NZ with one several years ago, but not the Caribe. Seems you will spend more time with the bird aboard...?
