Naia is beautiful and I love her name! Congratulations!

I hope your ankle heals quickly and well! That is not unusual actually, and it could be due to the hormone 'relaxin' softening up all the connective tissue. If you can find a knowledgeable Licensed Massage Therapist or Physical Therapist to administer cross fiber friction in that area it will help the tissue heal in an organized pattern so no scar tissue will form and cause issues down the road.

Enjoy your first days home and thanks for sharing Naia's pictures!
