My pug makes an excellent boat dog. She is very cuddly, quiet, cute, and low activity. She does well on long stretches without walks. She is not a swimmer, but she does jump from the dock to the boat and back pretty easily. That being said, they are the same height!

Do you really want a dog that swims? Wet dog in a boat sounds like a recipe for a bad smell.
