Meeting other kids

Hi there, I'm new at this so I may need some help. We are cruising with our 9 year old son. Unfortunately we have not met many other kids. Any suggestions?
We are currently in Antigua at Nelson's dockyard if you have a child who is looking for a play date. Thanks for any help you may have to offer. Heather

Are you tied up in the marina?

Some of the beaches over at the entrance of Falmouth Harbour were popular with cruising kids when we were there. You may want to take a spin in your dinghy around the anchorage in Falmouth too, lot more boats there with cruising kids likely than over in the marina.

Also the Antigua Yacht Club has memberships for periods as short as a week. Sailing sessons can be had, and your child can use the boats for free (Optis, Bugs, Bic Opens, etc.) - other kids may collect around the lessons.

Our kids are older (16 & 13) but we didn't meet tons of kids on boats that we didn't already know from elsewhere. Seeing kid boats in the anchorage or seeing kids coming in with their families on dinghies or playing around the boats in the water is a good way to find them though.
