I really admire Captain Bligh and being an Australian it is interesting to read about the exploration and exploits in the South Pacific.

I have to admit as far a Thailand is concerned I would really prefer to avoid the sex tourism label. It would still be nice to get over there and have some modifications done at Pantawee boatyard where my yacht was refitted. I also love Thai food and have friends there. Then I do know people who have gone there and met genuine partners! Admittedly though, I do prefer the temperate climate of the southern Pacific latitudes.

I am sure I have seen the title and have read a few similar.

I hit the public library a few days ago and did a bit of research on New Ireland, which is basically a east Papuan Island province. It is REALLY somewhere I would like to head off too after doing a bit of work around Cairns. I am not sure about the women, but there is good surf and the place is fairly remote.

I have been looking on Google Earth and the small Islands further offshore look like paradise with some potentially world class surf breaks. The diving is apparently just as good. You can also have fun exploring WWII relics both at sea and on land. maybe I might be lucky and pick up an adventurous companion on my way up the East Coast of Australia?

Then I might even get accepted into a tribal family and be forced to live out my time in some little village with a perfect surf break out the front. Either would be fine accepting I might even end up in a thatched hut with a family only a few generations off cannibals!

Ok – thread drift? No wonder you call yourself “The Watch man”!

Anyway, at least I tried to somehow relate the posts to the original topic of sustainable relationships. Even above I mention the chances of picking up female crew or finding a welcoming family abroad. Would you prefer me to avoid this positive outlook and instead just bitch about my past relationship dramas? I am still thinking I have better options waiting somewhere out there cruising than wasting my time around where I am constantly being policed by the politically correct. Exactly why I would really like to find some “welcoming” community or companion elsewhere.
