You guys will understand what a big deal this is for my daughter. Remember the first time you got to sail a big boat without someone grabbing the wheel? My just turned 11 year old finally got to experience it. SHe was so, so excited...
Nice one... looks like your gonna have an ACE watchkeeper/helmswoman there mate...

My sons are now grown men and neither of them can do a decent job of conning the boat. I have tried to explain it many ways but they cannot seem to connect the point of sail with the course. If you add trim in they get mad and give up. I have not given up and will keep after them. Fortunately they love the boat. They will tumble to it eventually.
Thanks for the kind words. She does a good job of keeping the point of sail consistent and keeping a heading. She'll get the finer points of sail trim later. I think once you get a feel for how wind effects the boat the mathematics become easier.

It's just after midnight here, I was about to shut down the computer and head to bed, when my son came down, also 11, I showed him the video, he smiled and asked if one of our trips ever takes us in your direction if it's okay to ask her for a date. He says she's cute.
