anyone know a good small vacuum for the rug and salon cushions? I have the shop vac, its great but not for this application.

I have the DeWalt 20v / 110 combo which works great on the boat. It does go through the batteries quickly when we are not plugged in though and not inverting, but the batteries trade off with the drill and other tools.

The best thing I've found for dog hair on fabric is those rubber gloves commonly sold for yard work. The rubber is usually blue or grey and mottled finish. Drag your hand over the fabric and you get big balls of hair off. No vacuum will get it. Actually just wetting your hand and dragging it across the fabric works too.

I fail to make the connection with your tool set batteries and cleaning up dog hair????

The vacuum arteries are interchangeable with their power tool batteries.

This vacuum is smaller than a normal shop vac and has some small attachments which work well on the seats in the boat. It is light and easily moved around and runs on either 110v or rechargeable 20v batteries which are the same ones I use for my on board tools

I have never seen a dog that sheds vacuum cleaners, nor do I ever expect to.

We have a bissell hand vac marketed specifically for pet hair. Has a rubber nubby nose on it. No other attachments unfortunately, but does a really good job on cushions and carpet.

We don't actually have a pet, but was the only small hand vac that was corded AC as I didn't want to deal with a charging station and batteries that were likely to be crap in 6 months.

I own the same vacuum and while it's good for cleanup after repairs etc, the suction is quite weak.

I just bought one of these, and the suction is awesome. It even has a dial to turn the suction down :

I bought it when my 4-year-old Black and Decker cordless died. Rather than buy another one that has a 4 year life, and never generates much suction, I went mains-only. This thing has an 1100W motor. The average cordless has what, a motor that's a tenth of that? I also liked the idea of having consumable dust bags, instead of emptying a canister.

The downside is that you need 110V power, and 10 amps of it. So I can only use it on shore power.

Dyson makes a small vacuum that is cordless & the storage is a wall hanger charger & it KICKS BUTT....I have a 135 lb Akita...when it's time ,well maybe you have heard the saying, sheds like a big dog!
