Child's PFD / Inflatable

I am looking for a child's auto inflate PFD if they are made. Or input as to what your children use/ wear while cruising? My granddaughter is 10 yrs old and doesn't weigh much

From this site

Coast Guard Approved Inflatable PFD's are authorized for use on recreational boats by person at least 16 years of age.
I don't usually have children along on the boat so I can't help you with more, though we have some ski type vests that will fit if they are old/big enough.

The Best PFD

Is one that fits and they will wear.

I would suggest looking for a water skiing type with neoprene exterior since it's a lot more comfortable on the body. You can probably get one from Walmart pretty inexpensive. That being the case, remind yourself when you purchase it, that if it means a little bit more cost to keep her happy and "in the PFD' then it's a good idea.

There are some Inflatable life jackets around, but they are only really for abandoning ship, However if you child is competent they can still be worn. Some links are
Plastimo : Boat equipment - Our products
Inflatable Lifejackets - Crewfit & Freedom from Crewsaver
New Crewfit 190N Lifejackets from Crewsaver
Also Stormy, Hutchwilco and many other brand produce them.
