Cat with Lymphoma, how to cruise?

My Maine Coon cat was diagnosed with Renal Lymphoma and we are going throught he chemo treatments now. I am also doing natural cures and the clinic where I am doing chemo has a fully licensed holistic Dr too and she prescribed some herbs as well. We haven't gotten the "in remission" news yet but I think it will come soon.

At the present time the kidneys have shrunk to normal and I am hydrating him with sub cutaneous fluid every other day.

My question is, I intend to go cruising in a year or two and wanted to know if anybody here has done that with a pet in this condition? He might be good for a few years to even 4 on a long shot. I would be going south from California and there isn't anything but third world countries, which I enjoy, but veterinary help will be scarce especially for cats.

My other choice is to wait but I really don't want to wait that long.

I am very happy to say I have a cat with totally normal blood work and he will be cancer free soon. He has had some chemo and lots of herbal and mushroom natural cures and the vet was so excited she almost wet her pants. She has never seen a cat get this normal this fast.

Natural cures should be a part of everybodies lives.

I cannot say that I would consider postponing my sailing dreams for a cat. For a spouse or child yes, but cat, no.

It is hard enough to cut the ties from land and go as it is, much less wait on a cat to be "ready".

There are lots of cats in the world about to be euthanized because nobody wants them so why not find a new home for your cat on land and rescue a cat from being killed that is healthy to go sailing.

We wern't planning to leave for a few years and if we have to wait one more the boat will be better equipped and the cruising kitty fatter. At the time I wrote that first post I was looking at a cat that needed weekly care. We started him on an herbal regemin and now it is once a month. Soon it will be yearly checkups.

As far as cruising with a cat goes, when this cat crosses over we won't have a ships cat.

Are you still hydrating him with sub cutaneous fluid every other day. We have a cat that I have been doing that to for almost two years now. Also feed daily by hand to be sure he gets a certain med. The vet has been amazed at how he has done. Blood levels are holding and he seems to be happy, except he knows when I am looking for him for fluids and we play a little game of hide and seek. Our intention is to take all 4 of our cats with us. Hopefully we keep him going till we are ready.

Our cat is a CRF cat in my opinion abd our last visit to the vet was with the oncologist who is treating the kidney cancer, lymphoma. That is going so well taht his BUN is now in the normal area and she said he doesn't need it. That was last Sunday, 3 days ago, and this morning I noticed he is drinking a lot so I think I am going to do a sub cu every other day.

I had to leave before I proofed that last message. Sorry about the spelling errors.

I was giving him 100ml daily of saline solution but she said we no longer need to do it. I am thinking it can't hurt so I am going to start back every other day.

Are you treating with any natural cures?
