Re: What Do You Have In Your Galley ?

dont like metal flavoring in my coffee--and i keep real cream , in usa, 4 days before it is bad.. try it-- half and half lasts longer and tastes better than regular whole milk. no i have no fridge.

i am a most fortunate woman-- i found a decent boatwright here--aand i am gaining cabinetry and shelf space in my galley wherein once were merely house batteries, whih were relocated to different cabinetry space---LOL win - win

The only thing I didn't care for is that the mug parts are sort of flimsy and I need to replace them. The base and blades are decent and the whole thing works pretty well. I'm all about anything on the boat that can do double duty. All that said, I don't use blenders much, just for drinks sometimes.

On another note, I found SQUARE Corelle! can you say, 'fits in the locker awesomely?' I knew that you could...

Re: What Do You Have In Your Galley ?

I'm not sure if scissors have been mentioned before, but today as I washed mine I recall how often ours are used -- generally several times per week. Today I cut up some scallion stalks for salad and we almost always use them rather than knives for cutting steaks. For me, scissors are easier on my hands with less chance of the plate skittering away when waked.

I do use a knife when in company, but alone or with friends? The scissors work great!

My wife got a Chef'n chopper as a gift, and it she loves it. She uses it all the time. It only has three parts and is very simple to clean. Best thing is that it chops wonderfully and uses no power.

Yeah, Zeehag! (By the way, nice name, I get it). I have several of the paramedic types, stailnless, from West Marine, that cut through almost anything, including those impossible plastic bags and packaging. https://www.portsupply.com/webapp/wc...qwTHDUYQ%3D%3D

Addendum to the Boatblender story:

I've just received my replacement mug from the boatblender guys and it is of better quality than the original. The plastic is thicker and less brittle, I think it is a different type of plastic altogether. It came with several straws and a couple of caps.

Re: What Do You Have In Your Galley ?

I used scissors once for the first time in ages...had to dig them out of my tool bag.....for cutting packaging and stuff it is one of the hundreds of things I use my rigging knife for. When rigging set isn't attached to my hip it is stuffed in the hand rail near the galley (sometimes the knife is on the cutting board though).

Serafina,
Did I see somewhere that you make bread and pizza in your Magma BBQ? I love to hear how as we are heading to Mexico this fall for 4-6 months and would love to keep the heat out of the cabin!

Just spent the last hour reading through the thread from start to finish. Great read. We do not have a French press but rather an AeroPress. AeroPress® | AEROBIE® High Performance Sport Toys

A source for heavy coffee/tea mugs that can be personalized with military/nautical art is Milart. Great web site with lots of choices.

I'm going to check out some of the blender resources that were mentioned.

And, I wouldn't leave home without my pressure cooker

Excellent! That was the place I was trying to remember earlier in the thread. I got a whole bunch for the boat and regularly use them as thank-you gifts for crew.
