Ewweee!!!

My husband and I were just talking about the American Main Stay -- Peanut Butter. I'm thinking about ten pounds. We have both agreed I will have to keep it under lock & key so, he doesn't eat it all (in a very short time!).

Good grief, you people are not making vegemite/maramite sound very appealing. I was committed to trying it went I got to Oz/NZ now I am having second thoughts!

Maybe I should stick to PB&J, but I'm sure we will love the beer!

We have plenty of both down under .
They even go well together - substitute jam (jelly as you Yanks call it) for chopped chives. It is brilliant with champagne as well .

Re: What Can you not find in Certain Countries While Cruising?

I have said it before, but I will say it again, Vegemite tastes like a cat's bum. No, I am not telling you how I know.

By the way, the absolute best way to eat peanut butter is, stick your finger into a jar of crunchy PB, then stick it into a packet of chocolate chips. Stupidly decadent and awesome.

America meets Vegemite

I was brought up on Marmite, Vegemite is an inferior product from the colonials, filled with lots of additional nonsense. For real Yeast extract lovers try Marmite XO.

It is hard to find a toilet in Mexico with an actual toilet seat on it.

Mexicans apparently think all feminine products should be perfumed. Trying to find pads or pantyliners that don't reek like chamomile is practically impossible. Not a good thing for a lady with sensitive skin.

i dontknow where you are looking, red, but i have found plenty of personal hygiene items in mexico without the freek smell of manzanilla, but there are many items sans perfume for those of us with sensitive skin. seems there are plenty of mexicans with sensitive skin. also.

toilet seats--dont tell me you actually SIT on the seats-----goood way to catch something.......used to be there was no toilet paper in mexican banos---lol had to take your own kit in with ye so you could make nice after the deed...i noticed only one bano had no paper these days...

I found Marmite in Nth Palm Beach by total accident... had been to the jams, spreads and honey shelves where its normally kept in the UK and selected everything I wanted so popped round to the baking aisle for flour, yeast etc and there it was... stacked next to baking soda/powder and instant yeast packets.. seems some confusion as the jar states its Yeast...

Was that pommie Marmite (made by Unilever) or Kiwi Marmite (made by Sanitarium). Quite different products.

For more info see Marmite - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

No thanks Lass, but you're a real pal. I'm not an adventurous eater. In fact I avoid certain sections in the market like the entire baking aisle, the baby and women's areas, and, of course, anything to do with cleaning products.

Now I have to be on the alert for "Johnston fluid meat." Seems like we have enough meat issues without that. I have always had trouble finding decent lamb. To my great joy, China is now exporting small lambs; particularly good on the barby. Bet Vegemite is great with that!
