Re: What Can you not find in Certain Countries While Cruising?

Many great Mexican beers had Czech origins.

Re: What Can you not find in Certain Countries While Cruising?

A decent fryup - pretty much unavailable anywhere outside the UK, except in a few Tourist hot spots that caters to the bucket & spade (and beer!) UK market. Lots of pale imitations around - but results kinda like me making a curry and serving it to an Indian, it might be all there but not exactly pukka!

Same for a decent bacon roll.

And I recall it took me a long time (many years) to spot fresh oranges in Thai markets - that because they are mostly green! (on the outside, orange on the inside!). So does not quite count as unavailable, but........

OK, I can't argue against your claim but I can say yer local fry up must be pretty bludi good to beat an outback Aussie one.

The next time (i.e. the first time) I am in Old Jersey, I must partake of this local fry up

Vegemite is made from left over yeast from breweries. What's not to love?

Hmm... not quite accurate. Kiwis eat Vegemite when they can't get the real thing (which is locally made Marmite)

A case in point in the last couple of years. We had a bit of an earthquake, and the place which makes REAL Marmite only just got going again.

Emaciated Kiwis were lined up for blocks, for months ahead of time.

I heard that they called this darkest period in NZ history "Marmageddon"

New Zealanders' stiff upper lip is certainly on show with that "bit of an earthquake" comment though!
