So I had a can of pineapple slices in the
bilge over the summer. I also had an
oil leak and some
water and, well, the can got oily
water on it.
Big deal, wipe it off and chow down.
Apparently not.
The can appeared to be in good shape, very minimal rust. No
leaks, it sat in a box in the living room for some months.
Tonight I opened it and....oil on the pineapple! Yet the stuff appeared to not be spoiled! Damned if I know. A "sister" can, bought at the same time with the same
history was fine.
How the heck does
oil get into a can, and the fruit not go bad???
