Start at the very beginning...

My wife and I have been bitten by the bug and are at the jumping off stage of making our dream a reality. We've found a boat we love (decided on an Island Spirit Cat. We now need a Boat Surveyor in Greece.
Our plan is to move on board where she is, in Greece, spend the summer getting acquainted, then move over to Sicily for the winter.
As we're both Australian, we're wondering about visas and such. We have access to a berth in Greece. How long can we live aboard? I see some things about 3 month limits and others about people living 6 months or more.
What's the scoop?

Be aware of Wonder...

The search term you want is The Schengen Agreement. I have no idea how it applies to Australians...

Re: Start at the very beginning...

Greetings and welcome!

You can ask Greek embassy in AUS over email. Their answer will be most adequate.

Non-EU people can normally stay in the EU for 3 months without visa. You can ask for a visa if you want to stay longer. Get the long stay visa before you come in.

Cheers,
b.
