Ron Facapa Rum

After returning from Georgetown a couple of years ago. Friends gave me a bottle of Ron Facapa Centenario aged 23 years. I kept if for about 3 months, and then my brother came to visit.

We sat up later that night sipping this DELICIOUS rum. No water, no ice, NO MIX, and it was just delicious. There were of course a few Heinekens to rinse the pallet.

I have found this rum on line out of the northeast. I am wondering if anyone is aware of a local merchant to Florida that might sell this drink. I want to sit with my brother in June at anchor in the Exumas, and break out this bottle:cubalibre

Imagine, enjoy your rum and hanging with your brother......my favorites are Cockspur (got it in Barbados) and lately I've been buying Cruzan single barrel which is very good.

At one time, I was an ordained “Spritual Advisor” to the Bahamian expatriates .
I kept the fleet of cruisers up to date on all the latest and best spirits on the market.
As those duties required an extensive first-hand knowledge of the subject; my advice wasn't always comprehensible.
I've, since, retired from the field.

caribnsol,

My brother says I have made him an addict. We always have a good time on the boat. He loves the trolling, and catching fish. A few drinks with some BBQ at sundown always makes it RIGHT......

Gord,

Somehow I can find this to be very true.....LOLOLOLOL

Thumbs up

Read some history about Ron Zacapa
Ron Zacapa Centenario - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"This rum has earned its place in the history books as a benchmark for super premiums. First place winner in the Premium Rums category at the 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 Caribbean Week's Rum Tasting Competition, before the competition retired it for lack of serious competitors."

It is the finest spirit I've ever had. I've got 2 bottles in hiding, and some in a flask somewhere... It can't be found in Virginia. I hear it's available in Tennessee, dunno about FL. I get mine in CA when I fly there occasionally.

And yes, holy thread ressurect, batman.

It's worth it.

it can also be found at the duty free, at detroit/windsor. I also found it in the florida keys last winter. First tried it in Guatemala, absolutely amazing rum.
