Hi folks, I personally use an Engel MT35. It's charged with HFC134a and does a good job as a
refrigerator. This question isn't about the engel - it's about 12V fridges in general.
I know that some of the folks on here are actually
HVAC wizzes and/or have done
marine refrigeration for years. Therefore, it should be noted that R152a is totally safe (as safe as R134a, at least.)
I've used R152a in AC applications with no real problems. In theory, R152a should improve the efficiency of the fridge and reduce the lowest temperature the fridge can achieve.
Has anyone tried R152a refrigerant in their
marine fridges and gotten any improvements?
