Provison in cayman? Or wait until roatan

Hi all,

Anyone who has sailed to cayman and then roatan recently? Which island is cheaper to provision the boat at.... we are getting low on some items and can go to the super market in cayman but it's very expensive here in Georgetown.

I here there are some well stocked grocery stores on roatan. Are they more or less expensive.

Anyone been to Roatan and Cayman recently?

Any advice is helpful Thanks

Can not tell you about Cayman but Eldons Groc. on Roatan near French Harbor is big well stocked and about US plus 10%.

Cayman is pretty pricey (about 25% more than US), but much cheaper and better selection than Georgetown

Generally a bit higher. Not as spendy as the Bahamas though. Eldons carries a lot of US products and caters to the gringo/cruiser market so has higher prices.

If you are looking to save a little more then just go to a local supermarket on Roatan.

Significantly cheaper on mainland Honduras, but don't sail there due to security issues.

Cayman's is more expensive in general, but has a better selection, you'll find things you can't get at Eldon's. Cayman's also has a big box store, Costco I think where prices are pretty reasonable.
