Propane usage survery

In the spirit of the water usage thread that got some traction, I thought I'd start another on propane usage.

How much propane do you use in a month?
How many people on board?
What uses propane onboard your boat?

9 kg tank lasts around 3 months for us. Two on board, cooking and minor water heating in a propane flash heater.

Re: Propane usage survery

Same as everyone else, 9kg/20lb tank lasts about 10 weeks.

Only thing we have onboard that uses propane is the stove/oven. We do bake bread.

Two to four people on board, not much difference in usage with crew size.

Living aboard maybe 20# 6+ weeks. Cruising in lower lattitudes probably 2+ months.
Cooking and grilling only.

20lbs tank - two years or more. Weekend warrior, heating coffee when anchored out. If summer, do not use stove if possible to keep from heating up the cabin.

Re: Propane usage survery

Our locker only holds two 10 pound bottles, but we get at least six weeks out of each bottle. Two people full time live aboard-cruisers. We use the propane for cooking and grilling. If we get caught in a cold snap for a few days we use a few 1 pound bottles in a propane heater to take the chill off..

Same for us, 2 adults and 2 kids. We don't bake bread though. Baking is definitely the killer of propane.

20# bottle lasts 6 months daily cooking (stove, no oven) The BBQ sees a lot of use and drinks three times that (separate tank)
