Myxomatosis is caused by a viral infection (myxoma) that was deliberately released in Australia in the 1950's to try and reduce the rabbit population. It did so, but resistance has now developed to some degree. It can result in blindness and a nasty death for a rabbit .

Re: My favourite 'toastie' is......
There's a really long winded joke I do where this rabbit has a cheese toastie, a baked bean toastie and finally a ham toastie and then dies.
St Peter meets him at the gate and asks (for no apparent reason except for leading to the punchline) "How did you die?". To which the rabbit replies.. "Mixing my toasties!".
Always gets a a laugh, but now I am wondering how many people actually got it when I delivered it.

Just plain egg done in the jaffle iron, on the beach or on the gas. but not for too long as the yolk needs to be runny.

I did get the joke, but I had a horrible suspicion that your "I do not get it" posting was caused by not knowing what a toastie was.

Re: My favourite 'toastie' is......
As mixomatosis is no longer useful, they have been using calicivirus in more recent years.
I'm trying to work up a gag that rhymes this with MileyCyrus........

When you do, please share, my mixed toasties joke is technically obsolete.

Isn't Calicivirus the blonde dragon lady off Game of Thrones? Who is Miley Cyrus by the way?
Coops.

Re: My favourite 'toastie' is......
I thought Game of Thrones took place at the Indian diner, where three people wanted to use two toilets....
Miley is Billy-Ray's daughter, and even more annoying...

Re: My favourite 'toastie' is......
Apart from the thread drift into jokes, all the toastie combinations mentioned so far are my favourites.
It's really hard to fail with a toastie provided it has at least one of the following:
B Beans; cheese; bacon; sardines; tomato; egg; ham; asparagus; ham; vegemite; onion.
Perhaps my best favourite is cheese, onion, baked beans (ham flavoured) and asparagus.

Another vote for ham flavoured. Yes! Is it an Aussie thing then?

Re: My favourite 'toastie' is......
OK, Thread Drift Warning.....not a toastie but what about Tim Tam Straws....???
Bite the ends of a Tim Tam choc biscuit and suck a cup of tea through it.....
Trick is to catch the Tim Tam before it dissolves completely, and slurp it down.
Tim Tams are more-ish on their own...
