vegetable risotto

2-3 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
175g risotto rice
600ml well flavoured stock
1 red pepper, chopped
1 courgette, sliced
2 large mushrooms, chopped
1 leek, sliced
3-4 sundried tomatoes, chopped
1 tbsp tomato puree (paste)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 tbsp fresh herbs (parsley, dill, coriander etc)

In a pressure cooker:
Heat the oil and saute the onion and garlic until soft but not coloured.
Add the rice and stir to ensure that every grain is coated in oil.
Add vegetables and fry for 2 minutes, stirring frequently to stop the rice sticking.
Add stock, tomato puree and seasoning. Stir well.
Put lid on and bring to high pressure, hold for 8 minutes.
Allow pressure to drop slowly.
Stir in herbs and serve.

For the non-vegans: a knob of butter stirred in just before serving adds a lovely velvety richness and top with shavings of parmesan if liked.

SWL, maybe you could do such a test now it's cabbage season in the med!
sorta like making kraut without the crock. Kraut keeps for a long time sealed in a cool place.

How about an eggless omelette? It's just a bit funny, not a recipe.

re: Mouthwatering Boat Recipes (mainly plant based)

Since this thread seems to have deviated from the original intent I will make an effort to get back on track. The title of this thread has rattled around in my head, there being plenty of room up there, for a couple of years and it finally sunk in that the only way to see if vegans do make better lovers was to do a comparison between vegan and non vegan lovers. My request of you is for some of you to conduct the same experiment and then we can compare results in order to determine if in fact vegans do make better lovers. Personally I have only very limited data but there is a whole world of ladies out there vegan and non vegan to sample. Whew, what a task Sassy lady has given us but I for one will do as she requires seeking to record as many data points as possible then report back.

<big smile>.....Good morning everyone Just had a big breakfast of sauteed in olive oil eggplant on sour dough bread with a nice ground pork patty and veganaise.

Whole lot of men out there for ladies to sample as well . Why limit the study?

re: Mouthwatering Boat Recipes (mainly plant based)

So does that mean I have to be vegan for one month and non-vegan for the next and so to be part of the study?

Or maybe just daily turn arounds?

chuckle, please forgive me for using male terminology in posting of my purposed experiment but the intention would be to also record an equal number of female tabulated data points to insure accuracy. I would like log books to be kept by participants detailing each point but without names or any other personal information in order to protect the data points privacy. Hummm, both men and women are no longer male and female but are simply data points. So that means male male, female female, male female, female male, all combinations will be simply data points.
I guess the next step will be to sit down and make a list of all important aspects of love making that will be graded. I'm gonna need help with this, we need to keep it simple and to start off I suggest:
1) samplers position,
a) vegan, non vegan, vegetarian.
b) all I think we need to log from the sampler would be their food orientation...or do we even need that? Please help

2) data points
a) food orientation, vegan non vegan, vegetarian
b) taste measured by samplers on a scale of 1 to 10 with a written description. May be necessary to break this down into several sub category's?? comments please
c)......endurance
d) originality
e) sensitivity
f).......ok everyone help me out here I'm sure there is more<smile>

So, as you can see Seaworthy data point, you, I, everyone else are no longer male female but simple data points with sex being an activity under investigation to determine if diet can be scientifically shown to influence sexual prowess.

You'd need to somehow compensate for age factors. Also include smell as a factor. Yes there is a difference between vegan and omnivorous body odor.

Presumably this will be a double blindfolded study with a placebo

For results to be statistically significant, you would need a large number of trials . The simplest protocol would be asking everyone for scores out of 10 based on the entire experience with a partner who was vegan/vegetarian/pescetarian/omnivore (with 0 being "I would have preferred scraping antifouling off my hull" and 10 being "I would sell not just my soul, but my boat for another experience like that").

Results would of course be skewed by the food preferences of the participant. To balance things out you would need to call for the same data on other threads in the Provisioning section as well, such as:
Beer Cruising
Margaritas
Quest for the One Can Meal

The problem is that this involves derailing threads, so sadly it would be best if you instead just contribute a few recipes here and conduct some trials privately

well ok lets add another item to our list but not smell, how about olfactory stimulation or pheromone perception? Scale of 1 to 10 with ten being very stimulating and 1 being very disgusting< stinky> But my cat loves to rub on me and purr when I am all sweaty sometimes even falling asleep with his head in my armpit basking in me stink.

no that won't work. a person to qualify must be one or the other for at least a year so that bodies will have adjusted to the new diet. However, this dosent mean one cant sneak in a nice porterhouse steak every few months nor does it mean that once you have become a data point and are no longer a man or woman you need to limit or abstain from sex. You will be free to enjoy your sexuality with yourself and others as often as you so desire. However, being the data coordinator and researcher I will require a full report and if I think you have violated any of the conditions of this experiment you will have to submit to whatever discipline or punishment I decide is appropriate for the infraction. The conditions which you will have agreed to when you check the little box and say ok will be in my head and subject to revision as I fan....deem necessary for the well being of all data points. I will not bother typing out all the conditions because no one reads them anyway they just check the box and say yes. Anyone wishing to know what today's conditions are may email me and I will be happy to send them a copy of the current days conditions.

hummm......

while you are on track sorta you must keep in mind this will be conducted as a scientific experiment so will have to follow a set protocol to minimize variables with a goal of determining which make better lovers. Were not interested in the different perception given by eggplant specialists versus say an avocado specialist. We will limit the category's to vegan and non vegan. Your suggesting may become the basis for another sudy in the future. However Sassy data point, I want you to be sure you understand that there will be no imposed restrictions in this experiment regarding sexual orientation or frequency. In other words you are free to go at it when ever and were ever you so desire as often as you deem necessary for your well being.

Does alcohol effect sexual preference and enjoyment? I think most of us have already answered that question, right?
