Mexican Food, BBQ and Ice Cream
I personally can't get too far from these food items without having mild syptoms of withdrawel. What food items cause you to get the jonesies when you have to do without for a time?

BBQ, Mexican, Rum, Beer (don't even try to dispute those two as a food group!), and BREAD, GOOD BREAD!

Re: BBQ, Mexican Food and Ice Cream
Salt pork and hardtack---no just joking. I lived for a few years in the American southwest and got to love having Mexican food. I became a Mexican food junkie and went through serious withdrawal when I left. Now I am back as a bridesmaid at a friend's wedding and have twice been to my old favorite Mexican place. I guess I will have to go through withdrawal all over again in a few days when I head back to Canada.

+1 on dark chocolate and fresh fish
Not to forget cappuccino and croissants. It's always magical to be in a country where they know how to make both

Re: BBQ, Mexican Food and Ice Cream
In this order:
Mexican food of all styles;
fresh fish and shrimp (real shrimp, not that farm-raised tasteless junk);
good quality 70-80% semi-sweet dark chocolate accompanied by a good red wine;
real American style hickory smoked bacon or European style smoked streaky bacon;
and pork or any form when stuck in Muslim country for any length of time. It is always what you can't have that you really want.

Re: BBQ, Mexican Food and Ice Cream
I discovered a new taco place that takes care of the BBQ/Mex food issue in one bite. Shreaded hickory smoked beef brisket in a crispy taco shell, topped with fresh pico de gallo, avacado slices, feta cheese and a red vinegar hot sauce. Chase it down with a Modello Especial. Cowboys score a touchdown...ahhhh! By the way..the place is called Fuzzy's.
