Favorite mayonnaise recipe:

(Can't let a good thread die)

From childhood I remember Mom occasionally making.....

Sandwiches with sweet pickles, peanutbutter and mayo (Miracle Whip)

Sounds disgusting but has a great flavor.

Try it!

What is a mayo recipe you can share?

Peanut butter, pickle and mayo sandwiches are still one of my favorites to this day. Been eating 'em for almost 50 years!

Re: Keeping mayonnaise with no refrig.

Un-refrigerated mayo doesn't really freak me out...it just starts to taste different after a week or two. It starts to taste a bit like Miracle Whip after awhile...which, if I wanted Miracle Whip, I would have bought Miracle Whip. I'm a mayo purist. Am I crazy or does the taste change for others as well?

Why not make your own as you need it. The eggs and oils keep

Re: Keeping mayonnaise with no refrig.

Yes, you are crazy. Tell your crewmate to quit sneaking sugar into the Best Foods mayo. Never noticed a difference in the flavor with unrefrigerated mayo. after opening. Probably had jars open for up to six months uniced and it tasted fine till the end.

Miracle Whip is not Mayo!!!!

Eggs went before the Mayo. Then always finished the Mayo. before it spoiled so don't know how long it will keep.
