The recipe is simple but needs a packet of special spice mix and marinade... which you can only get in Indonesian and Dutch shops....

ciao!
Nick.
Shucks, not an easy thing. Do you know of any incense that smell like bami goreng is being prepared? I could burn some in a shared anchorage.

Ah there's the French connection, Louisiana

I'm familiar with it as Holland was occupied by Napoleon who brought French cuisine to Holland which is much better than the fatty mushy traditional dshes that were eaten before that.

However, when the Dutch colonized the East Indies, they realized that this food was not only very good, but better than anything they ever had before that. Much of Indonesian culture, incl the food, was adopted in Dutch culture and the food has become traditional Dutch meals for many. You'll find Indonesan people and restaurants all over Holland, even in most small villages. It has become part of us.

ciao!
Nick.
